Playing dress up!

Ok! Nana is usually pretty demanding of what she wants to wear: lace, glitter, sequins, pearls, bling-blings, etc. You get the idea! If it's up to her, she would go to bed with make up and wearing her Easter dress everyday. So that's why David hit the jackpot when he returned from his business trip a couple weeks ago and brought Nana back the "princess accessories gift set"!

She was so happy and excited! FINALLY! Her own high heel shoes!! Regardless the fact that it was made out of cheap plastic, and she could barely stand up and almost seriously injured herself trying to do the catwalk. Nana was in cloud 9!

As for Zozo, he could care less about what we put on him. In fact, he is quite happy running around in the house buck naked. So that why we love to dress him up as a Harley Davidson's biker! Hey! If you aren't tough, at least you can LOOK tough!!

In fact, Ann is thinking about getting some of these temporary tattoo stickers for Zozo!! Maybe even a head scarf with "Born to be WILD!" written on it! After all, he already has the "skinhead" look to go with it (even though Zozo hasn't had his first hair cut yet!).

This morning........

This morning Ann got up early. She felt great!! Of course she did, she went to bed before 8:00pm! It was a total of 10 and 1/2 hrs of sheer pleasure, happiness, and deep sleep!

As we were getting Nana ready for school. Ann kind of tricked Nana into choosing the dress Ann wanted her to put on. Amazingly, Nana went for it! For a total of 5 seconds...... Nana soon changed her mind and wanted to put on something else RIGHT AFTER Ann had already put the dress on her. The policy of the house is: you don't get what you want, especially if you cry/ scream for it. And that's exactly what Nana did.

When it comes down to discipline, Ann is usually pretty weak. On the other hand, David means business. So David gave Nana a choice: either keep the dress she had on and make peace with it, or go to school naked!!! Nana of course didn't give it up that easily. She kept crying and demanding to be put on a different dress.

Next thing you know, David was dragging Nana (only had her pantie on at this point) out of the house!!! Of course David wasn't serious! He didn't even have his shoes on. But it sure looked realistic to Nana. She was kicking, screaming, crying, pleading, and freaking out at the same time. After that, David put Nana in her time-out chair 'cause she was still crying.

Within 20 seconds, Nana had pulled herself together.....still wimping of course. And this is the time for the GOOD COP-- Ann to do the final closing. Ann went to the kitchen, which was where Nana's time-out chair was located, and saw the naked Nana standing by the door, ready to make amend. Ann gave Nana a hug and took Nana back to the bedroom to put the dress on her.

As Ann was putting the dress, which we originally agreed upon, on Nana. Nana very quietly wimped: "I want to change my dress.....". At this point, all Ann had to do was to stare at Nana with a straight face. And to make it even more dramatic, Ann did the sound "Hummm??!!", meaning: "Do you want to go though that again??!" And OF COURSE it was a big success! Nana did not have any more objections after the big drama of the day. It sure was affective!!!

Ann keeps thinking that we can't possibly pull it off for much longer. You know, the whole "Do it yourself, or I am going to HELP you do it!", meaning: "If you don't do it, then I am going to MAKE you do it by using necessary force!" 'cause after all, the kids grow up too fast, and by the rate they are going now, both Nana and Zozo are going to be bigger and taller then Ann and David by the time they are 10!!!

Nana's 6th sense!

Okay! This is what happened. As we were getting ready to leave the house this morning, Nana, our almost 4 years old daughter, insisted on taking her yellow giraffe umbrella with her. "But it's not raining, honey!" Ann told Nana. OK, maybe it wasn't SUNNY, but it sure wasn't raining! "Fine!"David replied. He sure gave that up quick! I guess it wasn't the battle he picked to fight so early in the morning. After all, it was going to be a less then 10 minutes walk from our apartment to Nana's school.

"Mama! Can we go to 7-11?" Nana asked. It's becoming quite a ritual now to stop by 7-11 on the way to school in the morning. We usually let Nana chose between bread, milk, juice, or if she is REALLY good that morning.... some kind of junk food. "What are you going to get today?" Ann asked. "You'll see when you get there!" That usually means it's going to be something filled with cream or coated with sugar.

"Mama, can I get this one?" Nana looked at Ann with these sweet, innocent, and big eyes of hers as she handed her choice of the day. BINGO! Cookies with strawberry jelly and cream. "Sure! Why not?" After all, Ann herself loves the nice buzz from taking the sugary sweets early in the morning.

"Hum... it looks like it's going to rain." Ann said to David while she was getting ready to leave, thinking it was just going to drizzle a little bit. Within 10 seconds while David stayed behind to pay at the counter. It looked like someone just blow a whole in the sky!!! It wasn't drizzling all right! The rain came down so hard that it took us less then a second to come to the conclusion that we weren't going to make without umbrellas. Not even to Nan's school, which was only 3 minutes away.

As David was AGAIN paying for the cheapy U.S 2.00 umbrellas at the counter , Nana looked at us with this glorious victory smile on her face while tightly holding her precious umbrella. "See? I told you so!" She must have been thinking.

While on the bus on the way to work, Ann couldn't help but notice that both David's and Ann's pants were soaking wet all the way up to the knees. "We should have taken the better umbrellas at home. They would have worked better." Ann thought to herself. "How did she know?!" Ann mumbled as she scratched her head trying to figure out. "I know some animals have instincts when something big is about to happen. But THIS??!"

"I guess Nana was the smartest of us!"David said. "Yeah.... I guess so." But I still don't think even Einstein could have known that!

I am having a headach!

Ughhhhh!!!! One of my contacts fell off, so for a while I taped my other eye with some tape. Hoping I can get though the day with just one eye! Hey! If pirates can do it, why can't I?! Well, there is a good reason for not doing it....'cause it doesn't work! Very soon I start to get this nasty headache from trying to do a memo from the computer with my one good eye. A friend of mine lent me her spare glasses (since our prescriptions are about the same), and OF COURSE that just made it even worse! So yes! I finally gave up! I've decided that I just have to be BLIND until I get home.

Nana & Zozo

Hum.... nothing really. I just love this picture and wanted to post it on the blog. Nana is almost 4 now, and Zozo is 1 yr and almost 4 month.

Rabit babies!

Wow!!! We didn't even know our rabbit girl was pregnant! What a shock!! We found 7 baby rabbits yesterday when we came back from church. They're so tiny!! The proud daddy is this other rabbit that we adopted from a friend. David took them out to play in the living room to get acquainted. Apparently they had too much fun! We didn't see the ACT, but evidently they got to know each other pretty well.

So now the Allred household is just getting bigger and bigger EVERYDAY! Started out with: David, Ann, Nana, Zozo, Betty (our helper), 3 fish, and now the rabbits (all 9 of them!).
Nana was so excited! It was the first thing she told her school teacher when she went to school this morning: "Our rabbit is a mommy! She has babies now!"
